Very cheap design and there is only one set of snap ring slots in the entire cover. A little tape and bending the locking ring around the grooves can give you a tight fit. I've had them for a year now and the only reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because the color really holds up to the New England winters. Red as always, which I didn't expect, and they haven't fallen off yet. Maybe once a month or so I go to my hats and tweak them down a bit to make sure they stay on. Also of note is that there are no silver lines on the needles - the needles are completely black. Only fake inner bolts are silver. It didn't bother me, but it might bother some people.
