I bought 2 of these (4800 gpm) direct from the supplier as I was lucky to get a much better price. I'm happy with them. I don't use the maximum volume so as not to damage my elegant coral, which is fine. I use 2 pumps in alternation mode on my 270 gallon tank. My tank wall thickness is 1" acrylic and the magnetic grip is adequate but probably not adequate for thicker tank walls. The manual is definitely helpful in letting you know the modes, but I had to take a picture of it to read it hopefully. permanently. Edit: 6 months old and they still work. Edit: 18 months old and one of the engine cases has a dent in the back and has stopped running. (Check all other parts by replacing them with my working unit , and they're fine.) They're now too expensive to replace at 3.2x what they originally paid for.
