Just got to the installation after the return window was closed. Anyway, my boyfriend and I had time so we put a DVR in his car. We didn't check that before wiring, big mistake. Knowing about electronics, I definitely have the tools to test. The black ground wire didn't measure well, I inspected it and found the ground lug (cathode in the photos) was crimped to the insulation, I cut it and installed the new one correctly and it works. This added extra time trying to figure out if I had installed it incorrectly, if it was my ground source, and then finally got frustrated that I couldn't get it to work, took it out and disassembled to get to the ends both wires to get measurement. It made simple jobs difficult. On a positive note it was the perfect length to fit in his BMW E46 up to the fuse box for a continuous record.
