Zhiyun Weebill 2 Stabilizer is a really impressive product. You put a lot of energy into this compact body. The first thing that struck me about the gimbal is its solid construction. It's got a heck of a lot of metal in its frame. Apart from a few plastic buttons (power, trigger and control wheel) this gimbal looks like a tank. Its solid construction makes you realize right away that this isn't just a toy, but a real production tool, ready for some action for you to use. The ergonomics of this product are excellent, all the main controls are within easy reach of your thumb or forefinger (like this later). Lock/unlock switches on each pivot axis are accurate and reliable. Satisfactory when it snaps securely into place, letting you know it will stay in place. The joystick that controls the X and Y movement can be adjusted to your liking, whether you want a sharp response or controlled movements. It's a welcome feature that gives you freedom of movement on the go. The shutter button to the right of the joystick has three modes: half-press (focus), full-press (toggle shot), and hold (photo capture). . This feature is well thought out and excellently executed. The fold-out touchscreen lets you manage all settings and also acts as a built-in monitor (requires additional video transmitter hardware), which is a great feature. It's compact at just under 3 inches, but it's useful if you can check your footage on the go. Finally, the control wheel, located at the rear left of the device: it is controlled with the left hand. Hand and offers a range of options. It can be used to focus, control aperture, ISO, shutter speed and more. Super strong again. A small problem with the Weebill 2 is the built-in battery, which is not easy to replace. There are no problems with functionality, it charges perfectly, lasts a long time (9 hours of use are indicated). Eventually, however, it will dry up and be difficult to replace. But as with any technology, this thing will likely serve you for years before you need to replace the battery. And by then, you'll probably want to upgrade to a newer model. Like I said, that's a bit of a quibble. Overall this is an extremely competent, capable unit that is a pleasure to look at and has the right strength factor to get the job done. This is another type of production tool that I wish I had 20 years ago. I envy this generation of filmmakers who are developing all the great tools at their fingertips. And the last thing I want to do are short demo recordings I put together with the free Postpack product Davinci Resolve. I did some color correction and additional footage stabilization. So even if you're not shooting perfectly flat clips, there's a great product like Davinci that's available for free that makes buying the Weebill 2 even more worthwhile. With a great modern camera like the Sony a7SIII and a few more things like a pistol mic, extra power supply etc you have an impressive platform. $500 is no laughing matter, but in terms of production value, they're worth it. Highly recommended.
