11/29/2016 - This is my third rewrite of this review. I'll preface my review by stating that I've been a regular customer of the Netatmo family of products for about two years. I have a weather station, add-ons, rain cover, indoor camera, etc. I've had no problems with any of them. Which brings me to Netatmo Presence. At this point there seem to be two main issues with the camera: First, and quite importantly, is that all the product documentation that I received (and when I ordered) says it comes with a 16GB SD -Card included that can be upgraded to 32GB. This is not what I received. I have an 8GB card. I found out about this when I had problems with the standard SD card in the device, so I ordered a 32GB card. After receiving the 32 GB card, I exchanged the standard card. The standard card was ONLY 8 GB. After a little research on the internet I am not alone. Several US customers have found 8GB cards despite all product literature listing 16GB. I also noticed that the company has now changed some of the languages on their website to show 8GB but that was NOT the case when these original units were purchased. This is on paper, in writing, 16 GB. This is a big problem and needs to be addressed. Second, and more importantly, the SD cards failed in two rainstorms and I only had the camera installed for a week. It's under an attic shed so not even in a spot where water can get in directly unless it's a very windy situation. I can say with anecdotal certainty (if so) that the problem is moisture related. Both cases of SD card errors were at the height of the rain events taking place. The camera turns off and writes "SD card defective". When you open the back it's pretty obvious that despite all the other impregnations, there's nothing but grease to make an SD card waterproof. This is a major design issue that needs to be fixed ASAP and we, the first users of this product, need immediate feedback from the company that they will address this. This rain refusal issue is also being repeated by others on the product forums, so I'm pretty sure I'm not taking an unscientific leap here. In my previous review, which this one replaces, I wrote that I think this is a 5 star product. I want this product to work and will definitely update my review when/if the issues are resolved. However, false advertising on the 16 GB card and SD moisture leaks on the outdoor camera are major problems. I still have faith in a company that has delivered quality products on a number of occasions, but that goodwill and trust is eroding quickly. There really is no excuse for any of these issues and I hope they share the plan with their loyal customers quickly.
