EDIT: This is for the ORICO 3588US3 model I bought, not any other (it appears on the SATA III UASP model and who knows where else , and SHOULD NOT. This is a completely different product.) Pros: 1. Works very well (so far). With my old Seagate 7200 ST3320418AS connected to the USB3 port, the transfer speed of a large file to and from is around 110MB/s. Faster than ever when installed in a PC. I get about 50 MB/s on the USB2 port. It's as simple as it gets. Insert a floppy disk, plug it in. Ready to go.3. It will be recognized in BIOS/UEFI and can be bootable. I installed Linux from it, booted and started. So yes, it works on Linux too. Cons: 1. "USB self-powered" from the description is misleading at best. It doesn't run on USB power (maybe a 2.5" drive?). 2. As already mentioned, the plastic case is not the most secure. It's more of an "indoor dock" than a suitcase. Be careful when transporting, it is always with you and everything should be fine. Just don't drop it! 3. Also, as mentioned, there is no aeration station so as not to get too hot, or get creative with a drill! I drilled eight 1/4" vent holes in the stock. Think warranty is up! Annual update: still working fine! Still happy with it.
