Buy them if you have Econoline

I have two Econolines, 2007 and 2009 and each had two broken doors. Youtube videos will help you with that. It takes a little while to get everything right. My back door from 2009 was broken and I couldn't open it from the outside. I built my 2007 van as an RV, gutted and did all the new woodwork for the van so I wasn't afraid to go a little rough on the door. For mine, I cut out a 5x5 square using a hand sander and a simple grinding wheel. This allows you to see the latch and put your hands in the small space to fix broken links. The inner latch can be easily replaced. For myself I made a door panel out of plywood. There were 3 wires attached to this latch and all 3 were broken and needed to be replaced. The only problem is that the new hardware didn't want to fit into the existing door lock as it was too thick. I "filed" the groove a little deeper with a small bit in the drill and it snapped into place immediately. Keep extra parts in the van because you will repair other doors in the future. The repair time is approximately 3 hours, not counting the new plywood cover.
