The description says they are practically airtight. I think the keyword "handy". NO HAT. I think I should have read more reviews. (...which is why I gave them two stars instead of one. I take 40% responsibility. Don't make my mistake.) However, since it says "no leaks" in the description, I didn't think to ask if there was there is a way to seal it. There is an explanation for how the extra threads keep the bottles from leaking, which is weird because what difference does it make how many threads there are as long as they are in the TOP HOLE YOU CAN'T CLOSE. I wanted to use them for homemade sauces and dressings but they need to be shaken before use.
