Review on Duxtop Stainless Induction Impact Bonded Technology Kitchen & Dining by Leslie Taylor

Good quality cookware - but a design flaw results in hot water splashing onto the hob

This is a quality cook set that works great on our induction hob. It boils water quickly and the pasta insert works well when cooking without a lid. However, if you use a pot with the original lid (this lid does not have a raised lip like other Duxtop lids; see ASIN B00GD3366S), the vapor will condense on the inside of the lid, flow down and collect on the inner rim holding the lid holds. pot lid. When the water boils, the lid bounces and squirts hot water onto the hob. This is done with the pot itself (even if there is only a few inches of water at the bottom), with the pasta basket, and with the steamer, both when it's just supported by the pot and when it's supported by the pasta basket. I found a drip edge lid in my cupboard that fits this pot and the splattering problem is solved except when using a steamer basket. I can't find a lid that will allow the steamer to be used without splashing issues as the inner diameter of the steamer is only 9 inches. 9.75" pot inner diameter 9.5". The bottom pasta insert is about 1.5 inches from the bottom of the pot and has an inside diameter of 8.625 inches and holes 5 inches from the bottom. I'm sorry we bought this set due to an issue with hot water splashing preventing us from using the steamer basket, but it's well made and the pot and pasta basket should last us for years to come.
