Love this little stereo! Unfortunately, he arrived damaged with a hairline crack on his face. It was minor damage and I was hesitant to even return it, but in the end I decided to give it a try and get another undamaged system. If the new stereo arrives undamaged I will change this rating to 5 stars. The sound is good, but not amazing. But for a budget device I find it satisfactory. The design is absolutely beautiful. This is not real wood but some kind of high quality plastic laminate. The speakers aren't permanently connected, so if you need a longer speaker cable or different speakers, it's an easy retrofit. The CD player loads quickly and works great. FM radio is the best device I have ever had. The location in my house has always been a difficult place for radio reception, so I was very happy with how well I could pick up the stations. My iPod Classic works great with a USB connector (sold separately). The unit displays song title, artist, and album information on the screen, and I can use the radio controls to fast forward or rewind the iPod. My own car radio can't do that. Bluetooth works great too, so I can stream most radio programs this way! All in all, this is a truly unique bookshelf stereo. I hope the replacement arrives undamaged. The replacement arrived in perfect condition. I love this little system. Another interesting feature of this system is the illumination of the dials when you press the illumination button on the remote control. You know when you drive at night. Okay, I've been driving for a few months and the damn thing shuts itself off automatically after an hour. I don't know how to get rid of this feature which is why it's losing a star. The remote control only works sporadically, so it loses another star. Maybe it really wasn't worth the money? Still a cool looking system.
