Review on 🍳 Camp Chef Professional Fry Griddle, 3 Burner Griddle: Experience Delicious Cooking with a Spacious 16 in. x 38 in. Cooking Surface! by William Groupp

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Needs time to season but cooks very evenly

Perfect for my Camp Chef 3x Denali Oven which I bought from Costco 7 years ago. The pan arrived today and has been seasoned with coconut oil all day. Never went above average on my stovetop or let the smoke stain the pan slightly. Once the oil turned smoky white and burned, I added more oil and spread it out with a brush. I did this several times until the pan was discolored and flavorful. Season the pan and you'll see the studs that the diffusers were welded to. i think it's ok After the pan was seasoned after 3 cycles, I've cooked some sausages and eggs and they don't burn perfectly. The key is getting a deep season to create that non-stick surface. Why only 4 instead of 5 stars? For over $100 I wish they would put a cup down to catch a leak. I can't find a tin that matches the ring they supplied. I might end up cutting the ring to fit my tin of tomatoes. UPDATE (08/04/2018): After cooking for a hike last week I upgraded this review to a 5. The pan works really well. The release valve does what it assumes that all of the food I cooked was eaten by our group. I don't know why people complain about the drain valve, I found an unused baby cup and put it in the valve holder and all the bacon/hamburger grease was caught. I had to make sure the 4 legs of my 3 burner stove were adjusted so the oil dripped slightly into the bottom left corner. Highly recommended if you regularly cook for a party of 8 or more. Important points: 1) Do not exceed the CampChef's medium setting or the food will burn and stick to the unseasoned pan. 2) Season well before use. I set the burners to medium for 2 minutes, pour in oil until white smoke appears and let the oil burn for another 2 minutes. I then added more oil and repeated 5 times. 3) After each use, remove food residue by leaving the pan on and pouring cold water over it and allowing the pan to sizzle for a few seconds, scraping off excess food. Rub vigorously with a flat metal spatula to remove stuck food. After that, when the heat has dried all the water, add more oil and spread it out. The pan should look shiny when you're done. 4) Be careful not to grab the folding handle when cooking, it will get very hot! 5) When not in use, keep covered and seasoned to prevent rust.
