They seem expensive but once you buy cheaper individual braces that combine and do the same thing they are on the same level. They are well built and make it easier and faster to set up a stable swing. As they are pretty bulletproof I would suggest looking at stock listings, this is where I got mine and they were in perfect shape. Our old swing has rotted and my kids have outgrown it, but my daughter still loves to swing. Using 1 4x6x8 and 4 4x4x10 and recycling the swing set from the old set we have created a nice set of smaller swings that we can turn into a garden swing when the kids outgrow them. I put my feet about 18 inches in the ground and I'm covered in gravel and dirt (no concrete) and this thing doesn't move, it's very solid. I used 3" Spax screws from HomeD and they worked great. Also, reviewer Brant G. Henne's advice on using a hand plane made assembly very easy. I highly recommend this.
