Almost immediately after changing the shock absorbers on my wife's small Outback, this popping noise started coming from the front at various times, but mostly whenever the front wheel(s) were after a Bump suddenly crashed or driveway exit (we have about a 1.5 inch drop from our concrete driveway to the cobblestone sidewalk). I couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from, especially since when I changed the struts it turned out that the strut mounts were fine. After carefully inspecting all the front-end components a few times, I decided to give the strut mounts a try. After some searching I came across these KYB mounts and decided to go with them. First, changing mounts solved my problem. Second, these mounts seem to be holding up well after four months of use. Note: These brackets come with new nuts to fix m to body. They do not come with a stand dust cover as you might suspect from the picture. Tip: Even if the top mount may seem inconspicuous, it is an important component for steering and safety, since all of the tire's vertical forces are transmitted directly via the top mount. . In fact, this is the upper ball joint.
