I bought this many years ago, probably 2012. At the time of this writing you may have already bought these used units and would like to know how they fared in testing. 6 years later it still works great. Remember that this is a 5.1 computer system. To easily get 5.1 sound from these speakers, you need a desktop computer with 3 headphone jacks on the motherboard. Otherwise, you'll need headphone-to-RCA adapters for most stereo receivers. These speakers sound amazing. When I bought them they were $100. For those complaining about the sound, this is a $100 system with an amp. The sound quality far exceeds the amount paid. Also, I have a dedicated sound card, you get what you input from those speakers. They're clean and crisp for gaming, movies, and music. The bass reproduction is clean, tight and loud. Your neighbors will hear your music in the apartment and that will be more than enough for a party. Keep in mind they sound amazing for $100, I rate them in my price range.
