The best system for the price.

I bought this many years ago, probably 2012. At the time of this writing you may have already bought these used units and would like to know how they fared in testing. 6 years later it still works great. Remember that this is a 5.1 computer system. To easily get 5.1 sound from these speakers, you need a desktop computer with 3 headphone jacks on the motherboard. Otherwise, you'll need headphone-to-RCA adapters for most stereo receivers. These speakers sound amazing. When I bought them they were

Don't hate Logitech!

I love this little surround sound system! This is the second time I've bought it and I didn't buy it again because it was damaged, broken or broke by itself. My little kittens chewed through the wiring and the system worked for a long time even after chewing. I had the system about two years before my little kittens chewed the wires and I had the system almost three years after the kittens chewed the wires. Eventually the system crashed and after a minute there was a sound, then very loud and…

Works perfectly. suitable for computer accessories and peripherals

I just received these and like other people they appear to be the European version. I was concerned at first because although it came with a socket adapter, the adapter said it was 250v. A google search found this, [.] and a message from a Logitech rep saying to put the subwoofer next to it check the cable and it lists voltage. Mine said 110V 60Hz so I'm fine. Now onto the speakers themselves. I've only had them connected for a few hours but so far they sound good with the built in audio. I…

Decent Consumer Speakers 5.1

Firstly, if you're looking for something impressive that fills your head with amazing sound, these speakers aren't for you. Does that mean they are bad? Absolutely not. I record solo and enjoy listening to music. From time to time I play games and watch movies on my desktop computer. These speakers won't work as cheap recording monitors (I have a good set of Audio-Technica cans for that), but they WILL work for everyday media consumption (read: the average guy who wants 5.1 surround sound). The

Great value for a 5.1 speaker system

After purchasing a decent 5.1 sound system from major stores I searched the internet for the best price. After a few days of research, I settled on the Logitech X540. The speakers come with matching mounting hardware that allows you to mount your speakers almost anywhere. I think my main gripe with the setup is that the speaker cables are incredibly short. I had to hook up the rear speakers, which is risky, but it worked. I was just shocked at how short the lines are. The volume hub is a nice…

Great value for money

I bought this speaker set to replace a dying old one and also to upgrade to surround sound. The sound quality is pretty good. It's not audiophile quality, but it's better than I expected at this price point. I also like the control box which is a must in a modern speaker package. The module also has a headphone jack, but I end up using the jack on the computer itself. When I'm playing a game and I set it to 5.1, the center channel doesn't mix with the stereo sound that the headphones are using.

  • Great selection

  • Too long to wait

Great PC 5.1 surround sound system

I've had a great Harman/Kardon 2.1 desktop stereo with a powerful subwoofer for a long time. Last year I added a Creative 5.1 sound card to my PC build which has allowed me to get the most out of my 2.1 system. That Father's Day my wife asked me what I wanted and I knew it was time to upgrade to a 5.1 surround sound system. The Logitech X-540 system got great reviews, had the performance I wanted, and was priced right. Setup went smoothly and after a reboot I was able to tweak the Creative 5.1…
