I bought this for my gerbils because there is a joke in my family that they can drive and they also need a car to travel carrier. it cannot be a permanent cage or an extension of a permanent cage unless their cage is at least 450m². Customs for hamsters and gerbils. My gerbils don't seem to mind this for short periods of time, but once they're there for more than 20 minutes or so they start to show signs of stress. The water bottle design is so confusing. First, if hamsters, gerbils, or mice wanted to drink from it, they would have to twist their necks at a very weird and awkward angle to get at it, which could cause damage to their spine. Second, it's only 1 piece of plastic. Nothing comes out, the water has nowhere to get into the bottle. and finally the bottle has no bulge or anything inside to prevent it from constantly dripping which is a problem as it will soak all the bedding and eventually your little pet. All in all, this is a good travel cage.
