My 6 year old son has a highly functional RAS and one thing he has always struggled with is understanding how long something takes. He gets very impatient and then eventually it comes to a crisis. During a parent-teacher meeting, we learned that they use timers in their class and that many children, including him, reacted very strongly to it. So we decided to buy the 8 inch version as we wanted it to still be legible. but also portable throughout the house. This is probably one of the best things we've bought as it helps him figure out how much time it takes to do something (e.g. when dinner is ready) and also ensures he has some patience , while the timer is ticking. Descent. Functionally, this timer is great. You just move the little knob the amount of time you want it to count down from, and then it goes automatically. The area filled in red shows how much time is left and when it reaches zero it will beep to alert you that time is up. It is a very childish friend and easy to teach him the time (e.g. teach my son 10 minutes so he can install it himself). Learning tool as well as inst poor understanding of patience!
