Review on ๐Ÿ“ž AT&T SynJ SB67108 Cordless Expansion Handset - Compatible with AT&T SynJ SB67138 & SB67158 Small Business Phone System by Jennifer Katz

Good phone system for a small office, with some features

As another reviewer noted - this phone is a system expansion device and requires an AT&T SynJ base unit SB67158 dect_6.0 1 - handset 4 landline phone for the work. We bought a base, a wireless extender and four of these desk extenders. The product description doesn't make it clear enough that with this system you don't need phone lines in the wall, just an outlet for each phone. They communicate with each other wirelessly. They perform many functions that are useful for small businesses. Each telephone has its own individual mailbox. You can ask the administrator to answer, or if he or she is not available, switch to an "auto attendant" that transfers callers to the corporate directory. You can program it with music on hold. The base stores a 2 minute recording (with mediocre sound quality) or you can connect an external music source. You can set this phone to ring your cell phone when you have a message, which is pretty nice. You can program 12 one touch speed dial numbers into the base and also access a much larger directory (more than 100 numbers I think) that you can program into electronic memory and then you can scroll through that directory. Management is a bit confusing at times but adequate and none of my staff had any major trouble understanding it. Once you learn about the features, the menus to access them become intuitive. There are several disruptive features. For example, there is no way to transfer an incoming call to someone else's voicemail. If you're transferring a call and the person isn't at their desk, they just ring and call. If you know the person cannot answer the call, you cannot transfer the call to voicemail. The best you can do is to transfer them to the auto attendant and then the caller has to choose a recipient. If you have auto attendant enabled and a call comes in, neither phone will display the caller ID until the caller makes a menu selection, and then the ID will only be displayed on the phone selected by the caller. I can end the call, but unless I was the one originally selected, I don't have access to the caller ID unless I go to the phone it was first routed to.
