Nice but needs work

Mine worked but only after a lot of adjustments. They include instructions for installing drivers, but the instructions only work if you're running specific kernels. I set up the cross compiler and was able to install the drivers using the hand built kernel. I also ran into the problem that your suggestion to change the boot file didn't work if one of the added lines already existed in the boot file but was commented out. (Luckily I checked the file and found that one of the lines it was trying to add already existed and so the script didn't try to add it, but it was commented out so it didn't work) After setting up the self-compiled kernel and compiled drivers and modified boot files, it recognized the shield and the module loaded fine and runs like a champ. Then I went to connect the Grove device. There are no so-called Grove connectors. They are taller, wider, and the pins inside are more spaced and larger in diameter. I already had a couple of board connectors on hand, so I pulled the pins out of the plastic case, pulled out the plastic part of the so-called connectors on the board and carefully reduced the distance between the existing pins with needle nose pliers. The force pushed them through the holes on the back of the real Grove connector, which appears to work with a little extra "pushing" on the Grove appliance connector to fit over the larger diameter pins.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
