I use it with Creative sound blaster z and Sony SA-CS9 sub. It turned out 2.1 system. The sound is very good, it would still be much better to use a receiver, but I do not have that budget. On a solid 4 play well. I bought a yamaha rx-v481 receiver - they played in a completely different way. For such a price - a solid 5. In principle, the bass is enough even without a subwoofer, but it's even more pleasant with it. P. S. In the reviews of the speakers, I was pleased with the "audiophile", who calls the low-frequency speakers "circles".
