I was looking for quiet fans for an HTPC I was building and Noctua turned out to be a brand with a reputation for doing just that. No disappointment about that. Front. The only way I can tell that the computer is switched on is from the readiness display on the front of the case. The device was easy to install. The extra power cord was a nice touch. Cable clutter is reduced only by the extra length where/when it's really needed. I built a low power HTPC and used the throttle cable that came with it. Even at a lower speed, the fans are efficient enough that they don't turn on the MB all the time. I assume the devices will last a while. The design/construction is so good that before installing it I grabbed one of the blocks and snapped the blades with my fingers. It turned out for an impressive time. The friction seems to be almost zero. In terms of price and performance, these fans are the best improvement I have in my new HTPC over its predecessor.
