Doesn't work for 2560x1440

I have a DVI KVM switch (MiniView GCS 1784) and although my graphics card *has* a DVI output, it only supports single channel mode so doesn't work with mine Monitor at full resolution of 2560x1440. I tried to work around this by switching my graphics card's HDMI output to DVI, but unfortunately it didn't work for me: I was only able to get a lower resolution.
