This tool kit is ideal for removing the cylinder head on M52 to E36. The cam locks fit snugly to the ends of the cams without modification. The camshaft wrench also worked. I didn't lock up the flywheel and had no trouble removing the head. They even include a pin for squeezing the chain tensioner. Couldn't be easier. I wouldn't remove the head or cams without this tool; To do this you need to turn both camshaft sprockets to disengage the vanos mechanism without turning the cams. This tool makes it an easy task.
