Review on 🕹️ Belkin 8-Inch USB Joystick Adapter for SideWinder, DB15 Female to USB Male (F3U200-08) by Josh Reynolds

I bought this cable to power an old Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro that I had. I lost the gameport to USB cable that came with the joystick (it was one of the later models that included both USB and gameport support). The bad news is that it doesn't work out of the box. The good news is that after a quick hack, it now works great on Windows 10 64bit. Borrowing from another reviewer, I cut the zip tie, stripped the two ends, and then wrapped the two ends around pins 2 and 7 on the joystick's gameport connector (leaving the plastic wrap on the zip tie so you don't break any of it touched). the other pins) and slide it into the case. See the image for more details on what I mean. Unfortunately I used a black tie so it's not as easy to see. Then all that was left was to plug in that DB15 USB adapter and voila, it now works perfectly on Windows 10 64-bit. The controller shows up under the correct name "Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro (USB)" in the Devices and Printers menu, but the icon looks like a weird game controller. However, make sure that all axes work and the buttons work as expected. 1 star deducted because the adapter does not work immediately with Windows 10. Only deducted 1 star for a simple twist cable shunt it works fine. EDIT: Added another image to clarify which pins I had to merge. EDIT: Apparently I (accidentally) deleted the uploaded image. Oops.
