Review on Starrett SM46WRL Permanent Adhesive Measuring Tool by Sean Fabacher

I usually trust this brand of precision gauges. But this time I was disappointed. I used right to left tape and bought another left to right tape to use on the table saw guard rail. GOOD: Easy to read, VERY sticky, durable (both ribbon and ink) and easy to apply. THE BAD: THE WORST thing about this tool is that it is made in China. Also, it's inaccurate. The farther from "0" the greater the error (24" of "zero" error is about 1/8"). I tested this with an accurate tape measure from the inside of my 10" thin kerf table saw blade to my fence. The only thing I could think of was that since the tape is metallic, the temperature change in my shop expands/contracts. band, which changes the accuracy.
