Review on Jean Patrique Santoku Stainless Kitchen Paring by Andrew Burnside

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Don't expect them to be sharp

These knives look nice and are well balanced in my little hands BUT don't expect them to be sharp. Of the 3 Santoku knives in this collection, the ONLY one that feels sharp is the smallest. The other two are dumber than the santoku I've owned for 15 years and haven't sharpened or sharpened since I bought it due to my lack of knowledge and skills. The same goes for another 6-inch JP chef's knife. I bought and delivered today. I don't know if this is because they are bought from Revain and maybe cost seconds compared to buying direct from the company in the UK or not. I'm considering keeping them and asking a friend who sharpens the knives really well because I love how they feel in my hand, or just return them and buy knives from More Global. I give 2 stars for their balance and how they feel in my hand.
