This E-Kong Cone worked very well. Our poor dog didn't like it but he wasn't afraid of it and tolerated it well. We only used it when we couldn't keep an eye on it after surgery. He is a large dog (about 75#) and the surgery was performed high up on the back of the inner thigh near the groin. This cone easily stopped him from falling to that location. The material on the outside is soft and durable and I find the inner tube strong (had to use a pump to inflate it). I think this is a very good product that has helped us a lot. Very glad we bought it. Update April 2019: The cute dog had his front leg shaved for an IV site, which he licked like crazy. I was afraid of the formation of a hotspot. I never thought that pillow would keep him from reaching his front leg, but IT DID. I'm so happy. This collar has saved us from heartache twice in our house!
