Exactly what I expected! Yes, it's small and no, the wood isn't shiny. I bought this for my "rainbow baby" who is only 5 months old. I will NOT let him play with it as long as it's just on a shelf as a nursery decor. Most will say it's under $20, but for minimalists like us who value quality over quantity, this toy is worth every penny! The texture will be easy to grab when he's old enough to play with it, and the style will provide hours of endless playtime fun!
