I really wanted an indoor ceiling fan because it's near my son's bunk bed. I chose this model for its low profile and sleek design. Personally, I might find it a bit overpriced, but I couldn't find this style of design cheaper anywhere. Installation was pretty easy. We had a bit of an issue aligning the light with the mount, ours must have been a bit off as it only aligns in one direction. Running the remote control box and cables upstairs during ceiling mounting was also a bit of a hassle. Hardly fits. All in all it took us about 30 minutes to install. Cosmetically, it has a small crease on the edge of the metal frame where it got a dent at one point. I definitely prefer not to be there, but I won't be bringing it back because of that. The glowing ring is a thin piece of translucent plastic. To change the color of the light, turn it off and on again. The remote control is supplied without a battery. The bottom grille rotates to change the direction of airflow. It worked well for us because we can point it towards the beds, but there's no airflow left in the other half of the room. Overall I'm happy with this purchase as it meets my very specific needs for a low profile security fan. I don't think it's suitable for a large room.
