I wasn't sure about mills as the reviews were everywhere. I took a chance and bought this and the accompanying motor (as I wasn't sure if you bought them together if you're dealing with power outages) for my mum for Mother's Day. she loved it! Easy installation, securely and easily attached to the counter. We ground 5 cups of durum wheat in about 10 minutes so she could bake her famous whole wheat bread that she hasn't baked in 20 years. Fuck the old mill we use on the farm, but it might have been the sausage mill we used to grind wheat. 5 cups is maybe a full ton, and another 1/4 wheat, the engine and hull don't even warm up in that time and run non-stop. Also very quiet, maybe I looked at a thing or two, someone said it was loud like a blender, not this one. Almost no noise while going about his business. I haven't tried the pen, maybe next time. Now she has ordered 25 pounds of corn.
