Review on Mora 10-Inch Ceramic Dinner Plates by Gary Shakeone

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Does everything I want and more.

TL:DR - This plate is durable, stylish, ovenable, retains heat and is easy to clean. I needed a plate I could put in the oven without fear of cracking. Metal panels are beautiful but ugly and usually labor intensive to maintain. A friend told me about ceramic plates and special ceramic plates that can do the same. Oh, here I try them. I should also mention that I bought bowls and dessert plates. My experience with each of them was similar and equally impressive. Every product has some level of hype to promote their product. This product underestimates what it really can do. Buying them is like stealing real money. The panels are of good weight and therefore retain heat well. I made nachos for me and my friend on a plate and they stayed warm to the last bite. I've also cooked nachos in the oven on a plate. Something I never thought I would do. After speaking to Beth from Customer Service, I explained my plans and she agreed; These plates are truly oven safe. Having made it myself I can honestly say the plate has been roasted at 350F and shows no signs of wear. In the end I wanted a plate that could cope with the environment in my oven without looking like an industrial creation. As practical as my purchasing decisions were, these cymbals met my criteria and I am happy with these cymbals. For those more tactile, the glazed areas of the plate are smooth as wax and virtually spot-free. For ceramics, this is a fairly professional material. The edges and bottom are rough. I really like this design. The rough edges ensure a secure grip, even during washing, while the smooth surfaces help residue, even crunchy nacho toppings, slide off. They aren't light and I'm sure they will break if they fall on hard ground. I think these panels will hold up to the rigors of everyday use, but only time can tell for sure.

Pros
  • IT'S TIME TO PAUSE AND EAT: It's more than just a plate. Mora is Latin for 'pause', a reminder to slow down in your amazing life. You're always told to do more, move faster, be better, but every once in a while you need to slow down and enjoy your food. Your Mora Plates can help you with this. Every time you use a Mora plate, it's a reminder to take a break, take some time, and practice mindful eating.
