Review on πŸ“€ Sony DVP-NS77H/B: High-Definition HDMI DVD Player with 1080p Upscaling in Black by Dustin Wheeler

WOW WOW WOW! Why Buy Blu-ray?

Connected this device to my 50" Sony Bravia SXRD Series A via HDMI. I will say that I cannot say for sure if this is a DVD player or Bravia or a combination of both , but I can only describe it as insane! My Bravia is 1080p and has the latest and greatest 120Hz filter which gets rid of the motion blur you sometimes see on the LCD. So I want to throw it away just in case that it's really a bigger factor in my DVD After I hooked up a DVD player to my Bravia with a $19 HDMI cable (Circuit City tried to sell me the same cable for $129!), I ran a went through quick setup and went to Black Hawk Down it was in 3D I could see grains of sand lifting off the ground as the rangers fell out of the chopper I could see shell casings flying out of the cannons I could see the sharpness of Spheres see the sharpness and detail of buildings and see them in the frame. the background was amazing. For only 89€ I have to say that I am completely satisfied. I just don't see the point of spending over $500 on a Blu-Ray or HDDVD player now when you can spend a fraction of that amount on something that I think is just under. And I can look at my existing DVD collection in a new way without having to keep buying them in one of two new formats. While I wait to see who wins. I have to imagine that Blu-Ray will be the winner at this point. If you connect it with less than HDMI cables (Component, S-Video or Composite) I doubt you'll get the same quality or performance. So if you want to do this through an AV component, you need HDMI.
