It looks very well made and sturdy, I really like the backlight

Overall it looks very well made and solid, I really like the backlight. I like the soft plastic outer shade that absorbs shock if hit or dropped. However, they refer to this shield as a "holster," which is definitely not the case. To me, a holster implies a way of carrying it on a belt, like a pistol or tape measure. They used self-tapping screws to hold the two halves of the main plastic body together. They must be unscrewed to insert and replace the batteries. This is a very bad design in that regard. Trust me, as a long-time user (oh, I'm old) of all sorts of devices, self-tapping screws are VERY likely to remove threaded holes in plastic, and a novice user can over-tighten them and do just that. If it weren't for this design flaw, I would have given it 5 stars. So as long as you're very careful not to over-tighten the screws, this multimeter should be fine. and self defense. I accidentally connected the probes to an AC circuit with the range scale set to DC without damaging the unit. I don't know if this has anything to do with other types of broken links. Robbin Rohner
