I needed to mount the TV in a spot where the wall bar would be centered exactly where I needed the TV. If I mount my TV on a swing arm with a fixed attachment point it might work, but I don't like the idea of a large TV swivel mount. The length of this mount allows me to center the wall mount between two wall studs that are 24 inches apart and align the TV where I want it. Basically, I attached the right end of the wall mount over the right wall stud, and the left side of the wall mount went a few inches past the left wall stud. I was then able to hang my TV on the left end of the wall mount and it centered it perfectly over my shelf (moving the shelf alone is not an option here). On the right side you can see part of the wall mount sticking out behind my TV, but that wasn't a problem for me at all as it was more important to center the TV. Wall mount and brackets that attach to the back of the TV appear to be of good quality and the hardware (screws and bolts) gave me no issues. So far everything is holding up and it's clear that this mount can hold a TV much heavier than mine. I am sure it will last until it needs replacing and cannot recommend this product. no longer.
