Works like honing steel.1 Leather strap. Although slightly shorter than a standard sling, it's also great for quick touch-ups and is suitable for use with straight razors 1 Beveled bamboo base to hold the stone so gravity does the work 1 20° angle guide for your knife. 2 rubber rocks to keep it in place. 1 stone with 400/1000 grit. 1 stone with grit 3000/8000. Attractive gift box. Base. The base allows you to touch the stone more easily and quickly create the desired edge. The 3000/8000 grit stone is perfect for my flat angle knives AND my straight razors. I've had several razors that were in dire need of an overhaul and this stone along with the strap surgically sharpened the edges. To use the stone, simply immerse it in water until it stops bubbling, shake it, place it in the base, then in the bamboo base and sharpen!
