I've been using this Kill A Watt for a while now and it still works great. I've used it on some well-known power consumption devices and it seems to be very accurate. Be sure to enter the correct kilowatt-hour price from your utility. UPDATE 7/3/2016. When using Kill A Watt with the Vornado heater, Kill A Watt would overload and his nest would burn and melt. Needless to say, this no longer works. I called the company about it and all they could tell me (other than that they won't replace it) was not to use it with heaters. It seems to me that of all the appliances you would want to know the cost of ownership for, heating would be at the top of the list. There is no warning about this usage in the documentation. So if you want to test low power and low current devices, this is for you.
