I bought this 2 years ago and it worked great on all counts until I put it on a 1500w underfloor heating a month ago to see how much it would cost me my to heat the office. instead of starting the boiler in my basement. Unfortunately it somehow melted and now it doesn't work at all. So I'm not sure why it's being boiled because it says it can handle 1850 watts, which is over 1500 watts. so I think they entered their specs wrong. Stops working after 3 weeks use. It was hooked up to an 11 amp 1300 watt heater that ran about 4 hours a day. After 3 weeks the display went blank and the heater would not turn on when connected to Kill A Watt. The heater worked well when bypassing Kill A Watt and plugged directly into an outlet. Tested Kill A Watt on multiple outlets around the house and it doesn't work. I've been using this Kill A Watt for a while now and it still works great. I've used it on some well-known power consumption devices and it seems to be very accurate. Be sure to enter the correct kilowatt-hour price from your utility. UPDATE 7/3/2016. When using Kill A Watt with the Vornado heater, Kill A Watt would overload and his nest would burn and melt. Four stars because the max voltage/amp ratings are incorrect and may need a redesign. But otherwise it works great. I've been using it for over 6 months. It is good for monitoring low voltage/amplifier devices. I hooked it up to my gaming PC (i5-4670k OC'ed, 750w PSU, GTX 770), including a 25" monitor, speakers, a table lamp, a large fan and several phone chargers, with no more issues than two months.
