I stopped using gels most of the time just because they are so hard to remove and they ruin my nails because I end up peeling them off. I couldn't resist the promise of this product and I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! I can't tell how long it took because I did it at work, but that's part of the beauty. I could apply it with a brush, continue working, and then just scrape it off with a soft gel cuticle stick. Hearing the polish crackle as it bubbled was really fun. There was a small amount of gel left, but it was easy enough to remove. It has to be applied quite thickly and I probably applied 3-4 coats and it just completely softened the polish. It doesn't really smell and it doesn't remove moisture from the skin around my nails. It's incredibly comfortable. I will definitely use this in the long run.
