I think this comb is best for people with fine or short hair - the bristles are close together and very stiff but not very long. It works well with my thick long hair just because my hair is naturally straight and doesn't tangle too much (huge blessing). But the brush seems to be well made and my hair is happy with it so I will continue to use it until it wears out.
