Let me upfront by saying that I like Redcon products in general. But it was literally like driving an artificial sweetener and nothing more. The chemical taste was disgusting. And to my dismay, when I looked at the ingredients, I could tell why - maltodextrin. For those reading this, maltodextrin has an even higher glycemic index (GI) than table sugar. This means that maltodextrin can cause a rise or spike in blood sugar levels - more so than real sugar. It also negatively impacts your gut microbiome and has been shown to reduce the good bacteria in your gut. I was very upset to see this because I read the ingredient label before ordering and the flavoring (fruit candies) I bought MALTODEXTRIN did NOT appear on the label. And yet when the product arrived it was listed on the label. Super disappointed. I returned it. Not only was it disgusting to try to choke, I didn't like the misrepresentation and inclusion of maltodextrin.
