I bought this shower stool to use as a footstool when I shave my legs. For that it works fine. The holes prevent water from accumulating on the seat and I didn't notice any mold growth. This was one of the cheapest shower chair options, doesn't take up too much space in our small shower and we're happy with it. If you are buying this stool for that purpose and have a good balance I would definitely recommend it. SENIORS WARNING: I would NOT buy this stool for an elderly loved one to use in the shower/bath. It is very light and the 3 legs can be unstable. I noticed that if I didn't put my foot on the stool's dead center, it would tip over on two legs. As an even-tempered 30-year-old, that's not a problem as long as I'm paying attention. However, I would have liked a heavier 4-legged stool for my aging parents and grandparents. Or someone with a certain instability. If that is your purpose of purchase, I recommend spending the extra money on a more durable stool.
