The filter has the advantage that it can be cleaned regularly which means I do it more often than I used to and only replace it when it gets dirty. Didn't notice any power increase (2018 2.4 liter 4 cylinder Jeep Renegade), mileage seemed to increase by a few tenths, so nothing significant. I clean it more often than I used to to change the filter, so maybe that's a good thing. The cleaning kit costs about $15 for the cleaner and oil in addition to the cost of the filter. If you change the air filter with every oil change, it would take more than a year for K&N to pay for it.
