After looking at the Revain a bit I bought this putting green because 1) the 10 foot length allows me to practice at different distances , 2) it has a standard big hole and a smaller hole which is great for my accuracy, and 3) it has a ball return. A small note on the sphere's return is that it is made up of several parts that are magnetically linked together. I've found that if I ever want to practice at a certain distance, I can remove one or more pieces to easily bring the ball back closer to the desired distance. This is a pretty nice feature of this mat. This putting green is good. He does what he has to do. However, this is not very good. I paid about $100 for it and preferred it to some competitors that I saw cost as little as $30. I chose this one because I wanted something of higher quality, ideally with a thicker green closer to the real course. green is ok I expected it to be thicker and heavier. The texture is close enough to a real putting green but for the price I paid for it it should be better. First, mine seems to have a slight crease on one side. It's ok, but when I try to align my stroke with the lines on the mat I don't get a perfectly straight line. My biggest complaint about the green is that the end doesn't lay completely flat because it was rolled up in the box. Months after owning it and even after putting a lot of weight on it to lay it flat or rolling it in the opposite direction where it was folded, it still has a slight crease on the last 6 inches. This is how the "baseโ of the mat is arranged. It comes mostly pre-assembled, but there are two additional pieces designed to fit within the main body - a tall piece that holds your racquet and one that acts as a head piece so your ball doesn't go over the edge of the mat flies. Normally that would be fine, but these two pieces are IMPOSSIBLE to fit loosely into the main body. It rattles every time I hit it with a ball. I ended up using wood glue to permanently attach the two pieces to the main body that holds the rattle in place. However, I think such a build is totally unacceptable for what they charge for it. The headboard piece really isn't a reason why it can't just be attached to the main body straight out of the box as it only adds about 2 inches to the height and you can find a better way to mount the cane rest even if it requires a few screws. Overall 2/5 stars. I'm not sure what quality you're getting from some of the cheaper competitors, but I can't recommend this one for the hundred dollars I spent and definitely wouldn't buy it for the $116 I'm looking at. it's listed on Revain right now.
