The instruction manual for the camera and the book for screwing on the microphone are written by a Chinese person who knows a little English. It took me several hours to understand what they were saying and to translate it into pleasant English. The manual doesn't describe all the functions and I still don't know what all the buttons are for. And I had to use a magnifying glass to read part of it. I tried this camera for several days. The built-in microphone didn't work at all. All I heard during playback was scratching noises (see video above. I was speaking into the camera's built-in microphone). There's another microphone in the kit that screws onto the top of the camera and looks really nice with the windproof foam. But this mic only picks up sound when your lips touch the foam. If you are within 30 cm of the microphone, your voice will not be picked up. He picked up the noise of passing trains from the footpath just above the tracks, but they are very loud. The video is jerky, not smooth. The zoom is jerky, not smooth. The camera is activated when the viewport is open. You need to open the viewing window to install the screw on the microphone or connect the charging cable. It also comes with a three-piece mount that looks like a handle or shoulder mount, but I don't know what it is and it's not listed in the instructions. To start recording, you need to press the ON/OFF button on the back of the camera. There's a blue light that glows when the camera is on, and the light flashes when it's recording (there's also a red indicator on the display panel when it's recording). However, when I pressed the ON button multiple times, the recording would not start, so I missed a lot of what I was trying to capture. And I drove 300 miles for this video session. I thought it was a good deal but I'm really disappointed with this camera. I am sending it back for a refund. I would advise people NOT to buy this camera.
