The Cudy WU1300S is a decent adapter to easily add a WiFi connection to your computer. The chipset in the adapter requires a driver to be installed, either from the CD that came with it or downloaded from their website. Windows does not have built-in drivers for this device. Be sure to visit the website in the guide! There is another page that comes up when you search for a product, but that page has a different driver that doesn't seem to work either. The Wi-Fi chipset is outdated and doesn't appear to be supported, so keep that in mind. There are no current driver updates. Performance in my actual use is below the advertised theoretical maximum. I didn't get anywhere near the advertised maximum AC speeds, but it was good enough for my use. Also, very strangely, the adapter refused to connect to my 2.4GHz frequency. Connects well at 5Hz. All my other devices have no problems on either 2.4 or 5 GHz. Update: I tried the adapter on another computer and it connected to 2.4GHz and 5GHz with no problems. Performance was acceptable and nothing to complain about, so I'm changing my guess based on my own error (probably the USB ports on the other computer weren't supplying enough power). I noticed that when switching between 2.4GHz and 5GHz, the adapter turns off and on again. Maybe 2.4GHz needs more power? Thus, the device works and is inexpensive. I can't fault him.
