I have read and researched a lot about this type of adapters. Yes, it gets a little warm, but that's not a problem. This is a tool-less adapter that comes with USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C cables. It is for M M.2 type drives and I personally used it on a 2TB Samsung Evo and it took exactly 45 minutes to transfer 500GB (OS, programs and saved data) to this drive using the Partition Wizard mini tool to copy. By using this software you leave the current drive in the machine and use this adapter for the new drive. Once everything is backed up, shut down the machine, install the new drive and you're done. This software comes at a price but it's worth it, I would recommend this adapter to a friend, absolutely positively yes.
