It worked as expected, I knew the lids wouldn't close which was a hassle but oh well. But the main problem is that we found that a strange waxy coating remained in our hydroflasks after use. Before using it for the first time I washed it in the sink and then in the dishwasher. I washed all the hydroflasks, cleaned the ice trays, washed them and tried the same thing again. They are coated with some kind of chemical or mold and it leaches into the ice leaving weird waxy flakes in the water and a bad taste, totally useless! I would have returned for a refund if I hadn't bought it for a month long trip and passed the return date when I returned to the country. Very bad Do not buy!
