Review on HP 2711X 27 Inch LED Monitor: Height & Tilt Adjustment, Plus 3D Capability by John Bayramdurdiyev

I really like this device, but there is a very important problem. The screen does not have any appreciable anti-reflective properties. I find that a smooth screen offers better color quality, brightness and sharpness than any comparably priced device, but with this monitor you absolutely don't need windows or lights BEHIND you or directly above and behind you. I read the reviews carefully before purchasing and my computer desk is set up so that glare is not a problem for me. I don't have lights next to him, directly above him, or behind me, and I don't have a window or TV behind me when I'm sitting in front of him. Just remember that the location of this device and where your lights are are absolutely critical to whether you enjoy this device. Let me put it another way. When I rotate this unit while it is off, I can clearly see my large screen plasma TV as a reflection on the monitor. It's almost like a mirror. If I turn it off and place it in front of a window with the curtains open, I can clearly see what's going on outside. I went to the best value store and looked at the 25 inch version of this unit they listed before ordering this 27. The reflection and glare from the upper fluorescent lights in the store was incredibly distracting. But when I turned the device away from light sources and covered something, the image quality was okay. In my opinion the best they had at the fair. Despite all that, I still really like it and am very happy with my purchase. It just needs to be positioned correctly to be able to enjoy it. The environment is crucial for this device. It will definitely not be the right choice for everyone. Hope that helps.
