Here's what I like about this printer: The inside of this machine uses publicly available components. Stepper motors, switches, belt drive, motherboard, cables, heater board etc etc are all of good quality. As a result, the print quality is very good. Everything works as expected with no branding quirks. The design of this printer is extraordinary. In the unlikely event that you need to replace a component, each screw on this unit can be removed using one of the two hex keys (supplied). This printer was clearly designed by someone who understood the benefits of simple yet reliable operation. Bravo. Excellent work. The touchscreen interface is really good. It's simple and easy to understand. It just works and works very well. Again, it should be designed by a person who understands the benefits of simplicity and intuitiveness. The slicer software is great. It works well and is far superior to Cura and most open source slicers. You have the option to either print with well thought out default settings or change the settings to get exactly the output you want. This software is the heart and soul of the machine and, again, was developed by someone who appreciates good design. Please keep developing and updating the software for this Qidi! Please also publish a Linux version. I want to use my laptop for printing. I know this is a big request but it's 2019 now. We have the technology :) - high temperature extruders. This is great for printing on polycarbonate and other exotic materials. This is a great free addon from Qidi. They mentioned it was in beta when I bought it 8 months ago but kindly provided it for free. - LED lighting. I LOVE THE LED LIGHT! Watching Qidi type in a darkened room, the ethereal blue glow makes me feel like I'm living in the year 2050 with a high-tech, magical machine that creates things out of thin air. It's stupid I know. but it's incredibly cool. Whoever came up with this, if you ever find yourself in Washington State, I owe you a beer! All these things mentioned earn Qidi 5 stars. But I haven't even started thinking about the company yet. I've lived 50 years and seen a lot of customers, good and bad, and I can safely count on one hand the number of companies that have such outstanding customer support. Let me try to explain this with two examples: 1. The high-temperature extruder did not get hot enough shortly after installation. I contacted Linda and she immediately posted one. She wanted the original back so her engineers could analyze it and figure out what went wrong. She transferred the postage to our PayPal account before receiving the refund. Tell your customers about trust! Very impressed with that alone.2. I screwed up a lot. I was an idiot trying to change the nozzle on a high temp extruder and used too much force like a gorilla when the machine was on! I ended up shorting out the heating element due to brute force damage. I destroyed my motherboard, I destroyed my extruder, I destroyed my breakpoint module, I destroyed my cables. IT WAS ALL MY FAULT. I contacted Linda to see what can be done. I hated losing my child. Long story short, she helped me diagnose the failed components, sent me some diagnostic videos, and finally sent me all the replacement parts for free via priority mail from China. Let it see this moment. This is an important gift from Linda of Qidi, who has NO OBLIGATION TO CORRECT MY MISTAKE. I am humble and reverent. This is some of the best customer service I have ever experienced and I am very grateful to Linda at Qidi for her support. If it were possible to rate customer/technical support a 6, this would be the first Revain purchase in my extensive purchase history to qualify. There is no adequate way to thank Qidi enough for bringing so much joy into my life. It may sound corny, but customer support is everything to me. I've lived long enough to know that disappointment and disappointment cost far more than the purchase price. Thank you again Linda, thank you again Keedy, you have earned a loyal customer for life!
