Suitable for small jobs like blinds, around objects, picture frames, etc. Being 29 inches fully extended, about 2 1/2 feet excluding the handle, I don't think you'll be able to reach the ceiling fan unless you're very tall or standing on something. The dustproof part is just under 5 inches. At the same time, it collects dust well and copes with its task. I think I'll set up one of my machines for regular dusting. I won't say it's super high quality, but you just wipe the dust with it and it collects dust well.
